Antiaging benefits of cosmetic surgery for men

Aug 4th, 2011 | By | Category: Cosmetic Surgery

This is the age of cosmetic surgery for the ordinary man.  No longer is it a plaything for actors and celebrities to polish up their looks because prices have come down, wages have gone up. Women are doing it.  Men are now taking the cosmetic surgery route in numbers never seen before.  It used to be taboo for men to even think that they would have cosmetic surgery.

We get old, but we feel young.  We want to preserve our youth for a few more years.  We take care of the inside of our health and body with an antiaging program of lifestyle changes such as exercise, diet, nutritional supplements and hormone supplementation.  We replace what diminishes in our bodies as we age.  We want the outside to look as good as we feel.  Today, even the ordinary man has begun to turn to cosmetic surgery to correct flaws and defects in their physical appearance and also reverse the signs of aging. Leveling the playing field, sort of speak. People are working longer, the age diversity of the work force is wide to say the least.  It’s a competition out there.

Plastic surgery  involves the surgeon’s scalpel, but that comes much later in life.  Before you opt for plastic surgery, cosmetic surgery – such as collagen fillers are the way to go.

One such popular technique that men and millions of others are using, famous as an anti-aging  solution is Botox. This non-surgical method  erases fine lines, wrinkles, crow’s feet and frown lines from your face, specifically in the forehead and around the eye area. Botox is a protein complex which is derived from the bacterium, Clostridium botulinum.  It is given as an intra-dermal injection and works by blocking the release of acetylcholine,  thereby temporarily paralyzing the targeted muscle. The result is smoother, radiant and a more younger looking skin surface.

Botox is not the only antiaging problem solver for your face.  Other anti-aging cosmetic surgery treatments which are also non-invasive and can take years away from your physical appearance are Perlane and Restylane, two of the most common cosmetic fillers.  Restylane and Perlane are both  dermal fillers and can give amazing results in just one visit to the cosmetic surgery doctor’s office. Restylane is completely natural and replaces the hyaluronic acid that is lost from our skin.  This loss of hyaluronic acid and moisture gives rise to the loss of volume, wrinkles and sagging. It is extremely effective against nasolabial folds by giving volume to the skin’s collapsed surface and can give positive results which from six to 18  months – a length of time which is not possible with any other dermal filler.

Perlane is also a dermal filler and injectable gel which contains hyaluronic acid which is similar to the hyaluronic acid present in our skin. As we age, the skin begins to sag, wrinkle and lose the volume because of the decrease in the level of hyaluronicacid. Perlane can be easily injected into the folds of the skin and helps to add volume thereby smoothing out your skin freeing it of the deep crevices, wrinkles and lines.

Non-invasive cosmetic surgery is the way to go by which you can boost your self-confidence by reversing the signs of aging.  With cosmetic fillers, you can achieve a more youthful appearance.  But don’t forget, looking younger involves many lifestyle changes and taking care of the health inside your body as well.  Cosmetic surgery is just one part of your antiaging program.  Take my advice though, go to the experts and only have this done by a doctor or plastic surgeon.
